Microcide® Inc., a Michigan based technology company, has developed Novel Platform Technology using only US FDA listed food grade ingredients to produce highly effective broad spectrum microbicidal products. These products are non-toxic, biodegradable and environmentally safe. Microcide products are certified by the USDA as BIOBASED. The product categories span food processing, healthcare, agriculture and consumer industries. Microcide products have broadspectrum microbicidal activity against bacteria, fungi and viruses. The products are modulated by pH variation and therefore when released in the environment after use they lose their lethal activity against microorganisms and are readily biodegraded by environmental microorganisms.

These products are also effective against antibiotic resistant microorganisms. Microcide products can replace toxic chlorinated, and/or free radical producing oxidizing agents as well as cholinesterase inhibiting quaternary ammonium based products. The company was nominated for the Presidential award for GREEN technology in 2005. Both the US NAVY and NASA have selected Microcide microbicidal products.
